What is an EarthTrek Diploma?
An EarthTrek Diploma is a type of EarthTrek Award that you can obtain by studying the website pages then sitting an online exam. If you pass the online exam above a prescribed score (normally 90%) you are awarded a Diploma which is displayed in your profile within a month. Holding a diploma for a project or subject is very prestigious.
What is the Gravestone Diploma?
This is the Diploma for the Gravestone Project. It is based on information on the Gravestone project pages and additional information that you may need to know to collect accurate data for part of the project.
What do I need to do to be awarded this Diploma?
To be awarded this diploma you need to study the Gravestone Pages and have a good understanding on all the protocols and instructions. You need to know how to use your GPS unit and a set of calipers. Once you have studied the information, you click on the link below to sit the online exam. To be awarded the Gravestone Diploma you need to score 90% or more on the online exam.
How does the online exam work?
You will first be asked to enter your EarthTrek name (please do this accurately). You will then be given a set of twenty random multiple choice questions from a bank of questions. You need to select the correct answer for each question. If you select the incorrect answer the first time, you need to try again until you get the correct answer for that question. After you have found the correct answer for each question, you will have your score displayed and be asked to send your results by clicking a SEND button.
Can I sit the exam more than once?
Yes. You can sit the exam up to 3 times. Please note that the questions are selected randomly from a pool of questions and that the answers are shuffled each time. You really must read each and every question and answer carefully before responding.
