EarthTrek Points

Every individual who participates in EarthTrek will accumulate points based on their participation and the participation of others who they introduce to EarthTrek.

The system is complex, but basically works like this :

1. You will receive points for every project in which you participate (i.e. collect data). You will not receive points for just registering for a project.

2. You will receive points for every data point (the basic data unit of EarthTrek) that you log both through the EarthTrek system and those logged directly with scientists.

3. You can also receive additional points for participation in other EarthTrek activities, and these will be indicated when they occur.

3. You will receive a small percentage of all the points that every person who you introduce to EarthTrek but only if they record your EarthTrek name when they first register.

Points may not be added instantly to your total at the time of participation. There may be a delay for points to be credited to you depending on the project and the way data is collected.

There are different levels of EarthTrek points, each designated by a color. The color and number of points required are:

White

0-500

501-1000
Yellow
Yellow
1,001-2,500
Orange
Orange
2,501-5,000

Red
Red
5,001-10,000
Purple
Purple
10,001 – 15,000
Blue
Blue
15,001-25,000
Black
Black
25,001 +

The EarthTrek team may adjust a persons points for any reason, including for disciplinary reasons related to breaches in the EarthTrek ethics, and their decision to and the outcome will be final and binding.
